12 Days of CrossFit

An essential gift list for your favorite CrossFitter
By Jessica Kelly,

I don’t know about you, but December rolls around and I start feeling festive AF. I love Christmas: ice skating, presents, carols, presents, gingerbread, presents, hot chocolate, PRESENTS. I’m not really a material girl, but … I mean, come on … PRESENTS! Plus, I’m a CrossFitter — there’s stuff I NEED! This is the time of year my mom and friends start asking/hinting/demanding what I want for Christmas. And I realized … all I want for Christmas is my CrossFit stuff. Tons and tons of CrossFit stuff.

The trouble? For non-CrossFitters, I hear we’re kinda hard to shop for. Some people just don’t get it. If I tell my mom I want Paleo anything for Christmas, she’ll just roll her eyes and put extra meat in the lasagna.

So in the spirit of giving (to your friends, to me, either way …), I’ve put together my own little wish list of 12 essentials that work for CrossFitters, advanced and beginner alike. But if you know someone who JUST started doing CrossFit, then really, this stuff is going to be perfect. They’ll love you forever. I’d hand this over to my boyfriend or husband if I had one, but (ahem) … Mom, if you just get me one of these things, I’ll happily settle for No. 12. Here we go, guys. Feel free to sing along:

On the first day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

A pair of Olys that won’t make my feet bleed.

On the second day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Two little tubs (of Quest Protein Powder Banana Cream).

On the third day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Three floss bands.

On the fourth day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Four-letter words.

On the fifth day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me (sing, people!) …

Five knee sleeves! (I always lose one.)

On the sixth day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Six rolls for taping.

On the seventh day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Seven bells for swinging.

On the eighth day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Eight Paleo meals baking.

On the ninth day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Nine ladies’ leggings.

On the 10th day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

Ten ropes for leaping.

On the 11th day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me …

11 pounds of bacon

On the 12th day of CrossFit, my true love gave to me (all together now) …

Twelve Dan Baileys deadlifting.

Eleven pounds of bacon,

Ten ropes for leaping,

Nine ladies’ leggings,

Eight Paleo meals baking,

Seven bells for swinging,

Six rolls for taping,

Five knee sleeves!

Four-letter words,

Three floss bands,

Two little tubs,

And a pair of Olys that won’t make my feet bleed.

Good job, guys! Your voices all sound lovely. And you can consider that Dan Bailey link a gift from me to you! ;) Merry CrossFit, guys!
